RECYCLING POLICY

Here's the thing.  We believe in recycling.  We think it is an important part of living in America today.  We have tried to gently encourage people to recycle while they enjoy the beauty of the Float House  (we felt a little uncomfortable about demanding).

For the most part, everyone has been pretty good about it.  When guests chose not to participate, we would quietly (and a little begrudgingly) go thru all of the trash to separate the recycling.  It's pretty unpleasant.

So, we are going to try a new policy:  Included in the $500 deposit will be a $50 recycling deposit.  If you recycle, you get it back.  If you choose not to (and that's OK), the $50 dollars will go toward the unpleasant chore of sifting thru the trash.  Like any deposit, this will be, by definition, a little arbitrary and open to interpretation.  We promise to be fair.  Does one un-recycled can mean you forfeit the $50?...No.

We will provide a stack of those blue recycling containers.  All you have to do is throw your cans, plastic bottles and glass bottles (you don't have to separate in Austin) into the bin.  When the bin is full, you then take it out to the trash can area just like the trash.  It's simple, really - and it's the right thing to do.  We hope you agree.

PS. We love it when you crush the cans.
