The '09 Drought

Yes, there is a drought this year (again). The lake is way down - about 30' lower than normal for this time of the year. But, it's only down about 6' more than it was in '06. That's the bad news.

Is the lake half empty, or half full?  We say half full.

The stairs are like climbing four flights of stairs, but they do that all the time in New York City. Plus, we are happy to supply a "freight elevator", so you don't have to lug all your stuff up/down those stairs. What we do is meet your vehicle(s) at the nearby point in our pontoon boat - load up your stuff then meet you at the house to unload.

The water is only about 6' deep in front of the house, but that's pretty typical for any lake. The rope swing is still open - you land in about 7-8' on a soft bottom.

If you do go out on the lake, you virtually have the place to yourselves. Boating traffic is way down.

Here's a picture taken from roughly the same place, same time as that beautiful picture on the home page. It's not nearly as pretty, but remember one was taken by a professional.

The bottom line is that we want you to be happy.

We still think that our place is a great place to vacation. But, if you are unsettled by all the news coverage (which is, as usual a Little over-hyped) and want to cancel, we will not penalize you by keeping your deposit.
